FAQ

Right here!!!!  Also, Dive Shops around the invaded areas carry our products.  Check out our "Find a Dealer" page.  Simply add your zip code or address and the nearest dive shops that carry ZooKeeper products will show up. If you prefer buying on the web, there are various online retailers that also carry our products. Simply Google "ZooKeeper Lionfish Containment Unit".
Our LCU's are designed to keep divers safe and allow them to eliminate efficiently large quantities of lionfish.  The entry funnel receives the most, if not all, of the workload.  Eventually, between the lionfish and your spear tip, the funnel will start to "open" up, or in extreme cases, start to crack.  A new funnel will bring your LCU back to optimal performance, while the old used funnel makes its way to the recycle bin.
Although the ZooKeeper LCU was originally designed on the Island of Curaçao, we moved all operations to Sarasota, Florida in 2012.
Its hard to calculate amount of lionfish that will fit in any ZooKeeper LCU.  Lionfish are an invasive species, so any lionfish can be removed, regardless of size.  To answer this question, we changed the names of each unit to represent the approximate pounds of lionfish each model will hold. The ZK-LCU 14 will hold approximately 14 lbs (6.3 kg) of lionfish. The ZK-LCU 16 will hold approximately 16 lbs (7.3 kg) of lionfish. The ZK LCU 20 will hold approximately 20 lbs (9 kg) of lionfish. Each model, including the PRO Series, shows the approximate amount of pounds (kg) they will hold.
